Hi All, my name is Nathan and I found a love for running when I wanted to find a way to stay active and feed a bit of my competitive edge. Little did I know that running would become a major passion and part of my career through physical therapy, additional biomechanical training, and run coaching. Despite loving to nerd out on the science side of running and using that knowledge to help others, my favorite part of running is the community: making friends, achieving goals together, and building relationships with the runners I get to work with.
I have found that my biggest passion is working with runners who want to try and accomplish something for the first time and who want to stay injury free while doing it -- whether that is just trying to get consistent with running, running your first 5K, going for your first marathon, or trying to hit a new PR. If you’re chronically injured or have recurrent injuries, I love working with you to figure yourself out and develop smart training strategies to keep you healthy and injury free.
I believe that each runner has specific needs and is completely unique. I see injury prevention as a holistic pursuit. It takes matching your running demands (training volume and running form) with your physical status (overall health, recovery, strength, and mobility). I’ve dedicated my time since 2016 to meeting the needs of runners through continued learning and finding ways to bring the best technology to the runners I work with.
Finally, I am a Senior Contributor for Doctors of Running (doctorsofrunning.com), a group of Doctors of Physical Therapy who produce running shoe reviews and articles on running gait, rehabilitation, and injury prevention. I also host the Doctors of Running Podcast, which dives into conversations about the art and science of running and the stuff we are putting on our feet (shoes). So, if you want to nerd out on running shoes, I’m your guy!
Looking forward to helping you run farther, run faster, and most of all, run healthy!
My name is Charlie Coenen, and my running journey really took off after I wanted to find a new way to stay active after my collegiate athletic career ended. I started with cycling in 2020, spent about a year in triathlon, and have since transitioned to running as my main sport. What I love about running is that it is an avenue through which many different goals can be achieved, whether it be relaxation, competition, self-improvement, community, or education. I love pushing myself and others to achieve their goals through their training. I fell hard for this sport, which was an unexpected part of the plan, but I am so glad it has been this way.
I graduated from Carroll University in 2022 with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science as well as a Bachelor of Art in Spanish. I am formally educated in run coaching through RunDNA, having obtained their certification in Endurance Sport Coaching in 2023. I also earned my Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Carroll University in May of 2024. All these pieces of education play a role in what I perceive and convey as a run coach. My strategies are methodical, data-driven, and uniquely personalized for the athlete before me. Further, I wish to offer coaching services to English and/or Spanish-speaking athletes to expand the opportunities and services that we offer. Sí, hablo español.
What I want people to understand about me as a coach is that I am here to serve the athlete, meaning they are in control of this process. Everything will be a team effort that stems from communication and honesty. My unique perspective on running will feature a lot of measures to promote healthy and sustainable running that can help stave off injury, but also improve performance. This means we will focus on many realms of training such as physical and mental wellbeing, nutrition, and recovery. I will never claim to know it all; I am a student of the sport each day. However, what I can promise is that I will use the best available information to coach and guide my athletes.
When not running, I like to spend time with my family and friends. The lake is a great spot that you can find me on the weekends. I like to watch Wisconsin-based sports, triathlons, and cycling tours. I also listen to sports-related podcasts to keep myself informed about the latest and greatest science and technology.

My name is Corrine, and I am a Doctor of Physical Therapy and run coach. I have been a PT for about 10 years and have a specialty in Orthopedic Physical Therapy, along with recent coursework focused on treatment of the pelvic floor. I have a passion for treating the athletic minded person, as we are an awesome community!
Athletics and competition have been a core part of my life since childhood. Competitive swimming was my first love, but I began to branch out in high school where I competed in cross country running and skiing. In college I joined the crew team, and then found my way into cycling and triathlon. After grad school, I immersed myself into running and cycling. Then in 2016, I completed my first long distance triathlon, Ironman Mont Tremblant. It was incredible to see how much the human body can endure, and the way it fueled my love for competition got me hooked. The intensity and consistency of structured training motivated me to continue racing triathlons, including completing 5 full Ironman races and twice qualifying for the Ironman World Championships.
As I continued with triathlon training, it was clear to me that running was what I enjoyed most. The sport of running is hard to beat, its efficiency and simplicity is unmatched. All you need, for the most part, are some good shoes, and you’re ready to go. However, as much as running is my favorite, it has led to multiple injuries along the way.
The majority of athletes, whatever their level, will inevitably wind up with injury. In my experience, injuries have been heartbreaking and frustrating. Training and racing are part of my identify, and without them I have felt very off course. It can be hard to navigate the journey alone, so having support is imperative. Coaching is part of that support, and finding a good coach is incredibly important. A coach should be someone who is able to see you where you are at, understand your goals, and be that person you need when the journey deviates from the path you were on. After all, it's never a linear journey with or without injury.
As a coach I value the need to have strong communication. Communication is key to success with an athlete, as it guides us to understand what is going on with certain aspects of training. It also allows us to build a relationship to better understand you as a person and welcomes a more collaborative approach to your training program. Other coaching qualities I value are having a strong understanding of human physiology and biomechanics, and as a Physical Therapist this is certainly up our alley.
I’d love to work with anyone who is passionate about living a healthy and active lifestyle, particularly if that includes running! Whether you want to race or try to become more consistent with a training program, we can figure out your own special journey and work towards your specific goals.

Hi! My name is Stephen Nolan, and my running journey began after my collegiate tennis career at St. Olaf College, where I graduated in 2015 with a BA in Political Science. When my time on the court ended, I was searching for a new challenge to stay active and quickly found myself immersed in the running community. Since then, I’ve run many half and full marathons, including the NYC Marathon in 2023, with a focus on improving my times and enjoying the journey.
As a running coach and Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT), which I earned from the University of Wisconsin–Stevens Point in 2024, I combine evidence-based strategies with my personal experience as an athlete to help runners of all levels reach their goals. Whether you’re training for your first 5K, a marathon PR, or simply looking to run pain-free, I’ll work with you to design an individualized program that aligns with your needs and abilities.
My coaching philosophy centers on consistency, staying adaptable and listening to your body to ensure training is sustainable and supports a lifelong love of running. I’m passionate about helping my athletes build strength and resilience while navigating the ups and downs of training.
Outside of coaching, I work as a physical therapist for Broadway performers in New York City, helping them stay at the top of their game. When I’m not working, you’ll likely find me running around Central Park or hunting down the best coffee and bagels in the city.
